This entry is just a quick notes entry so I can brain dump a few things I need to remember.

Recent interest in Zaapt:

Don has said he may switch from WordPress to Zaapt sometime soon
both Andrew and Brenda have also been looking at Zaapt

About Zaapt itself:

it is a modular CMS which provides building blocks to build your site
it is aimed at developers (more specifically, Mason developers)
it can be molded into any shape you like - see KiwiWriters for a good example
it is apt-get installable, but better than that, so is your site
- this means you can install your site on many machines instead of having to replicate everything from the database
- this also means that you can re-install in minutes
